Choose Happy

I don't know about you but for me it's a WHOLE LOT easier to choose "Happy" on Saturdays than some days during the week, LOL!   I like my job but some weeks are just more work than others.

This week I decided to use "scraps on the desk" for my cards".  They were left overs from scrap pages I completed.   Here's some fun with "Chalk It Up",  both layout and cards

Beep, beep it's your Birthday!

Hello Friday!  It's time to play along with our Color My Heart Color Challenge #131.  This week we're playing with Outdoor Denim, Honey, Sunset, Olive and White!  Come play along! 

It worked perfectly for a Birthday Card for a little guy that I needed.  Didn't want to add too much extra's as I was worried if he would pull them off, LOL.  You know 3 year old boys ... this is sketch from Sketch Saturday #347.

Thinking of you

Unfortunately, this week I needed a sympathy card so I decided to make 2 and also make a 'thinking of you".  I used the recent Viva La Verve Feb Week #3.  I was trying to keep the colors basic and thanks to the ladies at H2H for the Week 3 "enTWINEd" challenge,  I got out my new twine from the Seasonal Expressions - Flaxen.   Yup, I hadn't used it yet but I really liked it and I'm sure I'll add it to more projects.

Come on Spring!

It's almost March which means the official start to Spring!  After such bitter cold temps,  I'm ready now!  It's ok with me if Spring comes early, LOL! 

I think the DT at Cute Card Thursday #361 and Sweet Stampin' were thinking the same thing because their challenge  for this week was to use flowers.  I also used the sketch from CAS(E)#111 for the design.

Scrappin' Weekend Feb #3

Well, one good thing about cold and snowy weather,  there's no where or reason to go out in it so I had another fun weekend of stampin' and scrappin'!   I guess January and February are good times for getting a lot done.  

One of the layouts I finished up this weekend was this week's Let's Scrap Sketch 021815.   When I first saw the sketch, I was going to make a card but I had already made several cards from "card sketches" this weekend so I really wanted to scrap the picts on my desk.  As soon as I pulled out these pictures,  I knew they would be perfect for this sketch with one photo 5x7.   This is my youngest DS and he's wonderfully unique!   I love how this page turned out,  of course,  I did a 2nd to go along with the sketch.

Woohoo!  This card is for a very special little girl,  I think she's 9.  I do know though her favorite color is Yellow so I wanted to be sure to use lots.   The card sketch inspiration is this week's Freshly Make Sketches #174.   It worked perfectly for the fun stripes of washi tape.

Snowflakes

 

 

Happy Sunday!   What a blessed day of rest and relaxation before a very, very busy week.  It was a weekend filled with cold and a lot more snow.   When I saw this sentiment,  it made me think of this week's Word Art Wednesday #171 verse, Mark 12:30.  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart..."  It reminded me that even snowflakes are a beautiful part of creation and love from God to us.  I had a much better appreciation for them today and I watched them come down.  This cute card inspiration is from this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches #288
