Today was such a nice day.   My DH took me out to breakfast at Waffle House to celebrate my first 2 weeks of sticking to my eating/workout plan.   He knows I've been working hard and I wanted to fit in a "treat" at my fave breakfast spot.   I *almost* talked him into letting me take picts,  LOL!   It was then time for some of those "errands" you just put off ... like returns.   We ended up at Kohls for house stuff.  I know that none of this was his favorite things to do but he was so willing to be a good sport.   I went last night scrapbooking with GF and I leave tomorrow for business so he was just hanging out with me today and that was really nice.   I guess after 25 years of marriage,  sometimes just hanging out is really nice...wuv U!

Grandparents Day

Yesterday (09/12/10) was Grandparents Day. Although my sons are older now and more into sending text messages versus writing their name on a card, I wanted to be sure to make my Mom a card. She knows this is my favorite stamp set right now so I wanted to be sure to use it. It also went with Cute Card Thursday challenge to use a "play on words". I also chose these colors for Pals Paper Arts Celebrity Color Challenge to use Olive, Turquoise and Yellow. I didn't have any true turquoise left but this was in the same family. The sketch is from Verves Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch Challenge. Unfortunately I was traveling that week and didn't get to play but saved the sketches because they were GREAT! Thinking of Mom!

This card is for my Mom. I miss her lots as we're both so busy working and only get to talk occasionally when schedules align which just doesn't seem to be too often. My Mom likes any card I make for her but I always try to do something extra nice for her. This weekend on SCS there were lots of challenges for VSN & Sunday Featured Stamper. This one is for the challenge to try Faux Cloisonne & FS186. It was the first time I tried this technique, it was fun. This is also for the H2H Challenge this week to include stitching.
