yes, yes, yes ...  it's time for new!  I'm counting the days until the new CTMH Catalog comes out, are you?   Fortunately,  I still have some fun product from this time to use up.  Playing with Skylark paper again tonight which is fun since I also love the Lagoon Houndstooth Washi tape and they go so well together.

This weekend was OWH Virtual Card Making Party and Saturday, 070514 4pm challenge was "travel".  I love this quote that goes with these cute travel stamps.   The sketch is July Week 1 Viva La Verve Sketch.

Send Off

Today my nephew was sworn into the Navy about 0600 this morning!  I know he'll be great but it was so hard I'm sure for my Sis to think that her oldest baby is 18 and ready to go off to boot camp.   I'm praying and sending lots of positive vibes he'll love it.  He was excited and will be in Chicago for the next 6 weeks, then Connecticut.


My card sketch came from this week's Freshly Made Sketches and I found a fun new blogspot to follow for some great CTMH color challenges - Color My Heart. This week it was to take a current paper pack and add a color. I chose Florentine and added Barn Red. I really liked how it turned out. I got the idea from the Pals Paper Arts color Challenge.

UGLY Paper Challenge

This month over at Friends That Scrap we're having a challenge to use "UGLY" paper. To make the challenge a little more difficult, we chose the ugliest papers from our stash and sent them to another so the "UGLY" paper that we're using is from someone else's stash. I was a little worried. Bless my partner Mary's heart, she must have been doing a MUCH better job over the last few years selecting paper because the paper she sent me wasn't so bad ... actually it came together great for some Grad Cards I needed to get busy on. The vellum on the card is the "UGLY" stuff she sent me, the rest is Close To My Heart cardstock. I started this card with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 164. Of course I had to add a little to the sketch to get my sentiment on the card but inspiration is always welcome!
